Slo-Pitch & Soccer Program Coordinator
Program Duration: 7 weeks (May – June)
Time Commitment: Approximately 7 hours per week
Wage: $20 per hour Program Schedule: Two evenings per week at Bezanson Community Event Centre
Role Overview
The Slo-Pitch & Soccer Program Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering a fun, safe, and engaging recreational program for children. This role ensures smooth weekly operations, effective volunteer coordination, and a positive experience for all participants.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the Slo-Pitch & Soccer program
- Plan and organize age-appropriate activities and basic skill development for participants (ages 4–Grade 6)
- Set up equipment and program space prior to each session and ensure proper clean-up and tear-down afterward
- Recruit, schedule, and support volunteers to ensure adequate coverage for each session
- Provide clear direction and guidance to volunteers during programming
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all participants
- Monitor attendance and communicate any issues or needs to program leadership
- Assist in resolving any participant or parent concerns in a professional manner
Volunteer Coordination
- Identify volunteer needs for each session
- Confirm volunteer attendance weekly
- Provide simple instruction and support to volunteers to help run activities effectively
- Ensure volunteers understand safety expectations and program flow
Required Qualifications
- Must provide a current Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector Check) prior to program start
- Experience working with children in a recreational or coaching environment
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to lead and motivate volunteers
- Energetic, positive, and reliable
- Basic knowledge of soccer and general slo-pitch activities is an asset
